Safer At Home Order Announcement
After receiving news from Governor Hogan on Wednesday, May 13, The North Carroll Cooperative Parish has decided to host worship this Sunday, May 17, 2020 outdoors in the parking lots of Grace, Greenmount and St. John’s. Keep in mind as we move into this new phase it is still safer at home; we will continue to host virtual worship online. In order for us to host outdoor worship, it is imperative that we hold strict guidelines. There will be limited spaces available, follow the parking guidelines enacted by the ushers. We will have designated parking areas with proper social distancing. Households can sit by their vehicle on chairs brought from their homes or they can remain in their vehicles with the windows open. We need everyone to stay in their parking area and not mingle with others. Access to the church buildings or facilities is not permitted during this phase. For this reason, services will be 30 minutes or less.
Whether you connect in person or online we are glad you are part of our community of faith and look forward to worshiping God together.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Melissa

April 9, 2020 Update
March 31, 2020 Update
For the last three Sundays we have worshiped online from our homes. This week, we will do the same with our Holy Week celebrations, so be sure to tune in to travel with Jesus all the way to the garden, cross, and tomb. Our Baltimore Washington Conference United Methodist Churches are closely following the directives of Governor Larry Hogan and our Bishop Latrelle Easterling. We will be out of our buildings until at least April 26. Until then, or whenever we are given the go-ahead to resume gatherings in person, we encourage you to continue connecting with your virtual hub and reaching out to neighbors in need. Unsure about what what a virtual hub is? Click here. If you have not received an invitation, first check your spam folder. If it isn't there, contact our administrator.
"Yes, we're the church together," is the familiar refrain we sing when we remember that the church is the people of God: "all who follow Jesus, all around the world." With that Spirit may we join our hearts together even still in the name of our Risen Lord.
Be safe. Be well. Be blessed.

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the North Carroll Cooperative Parish:
In response to the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus and following Governor Hogan’s declaration of a State of Emergency, Bishop Easterling has called for all United Methodist churches in Maryland to be closed for the next two weeks. This means that our worship services will be suspended and all other group meetings as well. We will provide messages and other materials online on our preaching page at www.nccpumc.com/preaching so that you can find spiritual sustenance during this time.
We have a special COVID-19 Task Force that is in place to help us decide the best ways to proceed in the weeks ahead, and we will continue to update you about our work together as a church.
The pastoral team and church staff remain available by phone and e-mail. We are taking every precaution to help slow the spread and keep our most vulnerable neighbors healthy. May we act toward one another with the "perfect love that casts out fear," trusting in our Great Physician but also exercising reasonable caution.
Grace and Peace to you!

FAQs
Q: The Governor said gatherings over 250. Why can’t we worship?
A: Our parish has over 300 people in worship each week in a multigenerational setting, which is a recipe for spreading the virus. While we are not yet aware of anyone testing positive for the illness in our community, we do have some individuals quarantined as a precaution as well as many workers in the healthcare field. The Bishop has called all Maryland churches to close.
Q: My group is small, and we want to still meet in the building. Can we continue?
A: No. Because the virus can lie on surfaces for several days, it is imperative that we give time for cleaning and sanitizing our buildings.
Q: My loved one is sick and hospitalized; can a pastor visit them?
A: Many hospitals and nursing facilities have already put bans on visitation. Continue to call the care number 410-374-9400 to make us aware of the need, but this is a time when we will mostly rely on hospital chaplains for in-person care.
Q: I want to continue to give to support the parish right now. How can I do that if there is no worship?
A: You are encouraged to give online or via text to your designated location or ministry area, but you can also mail in contributions to the office or save them for when we resume regularly scheduled services.
Q: This has created a financial hardship for my family, can the church help?
A: We pray that in times like these, the church can be its best in continuing to give and support our family of faith. We have the Free Little Pantry available for immediate needs, and the Bud Meredith Community Fund can offer some financial support to active participants in our life together. Reach out if you need assistance, and if you are in a financial position to give more, consider doing so.
